**British American Tobacco Mexico has an exciting opportunity for an Investment Strategy Executive in Monterrey**
Work a member of the U.S. Growth Management team, leveraging advanced analytics to optimize pricing and promotion decisions across brands, channels, and markets.
This role is responsible for transforming large-scale consumer, commercial, and financial data into actionable insights that directly inform quarterly planning, resource allocation, and pricing strategy.
The role acts as a strategic business partner to the Investment Strategy team, building scalable pricing models and reporting tools in Power BI and Databricks, supporting the development of algorithmic pricing scenarios using reinforcement learning and probabilistic methods, and playing a critical role in shaping promotional effectiveness frameworks.
By embedding advanced analytics into decision-making, this role will help drive growth and maximize discounting efficiency across the value chain.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Support development of algorithmic pricing models in Python (Databricks / PySpark), integrating consumer, commercial, and financial data.
Leverage decision trees, reinforcement learning (RL), and probabilistic models to simulate and recommend optimal pricing and promotional strategies.
- Build automated pricing & performance reporting in Power BI (star schema models, DAX measures, aggregated tables, DirectQuery, and incremental refresh) to enable timely decision-making across the Investment Strategy team and senior leadership.




- Analyze transaction-level loyalty card data to measure promotional effectiveness, including incremental lift, cannibalization, halo effects, and price sensitivity for RAI and competitive brands.
- Support scenario modeling for quarterly promotion planning, incorporating what-if simulations, constrained optimization (e.g., linear/mixed-integer programming), and Monte Carlo methods to balance margin, volume, and compliance trade-offs.
- Partner cross-functionally (Brand, Finance, DBS) to translate pricing strategy into scalable models and dashboards; align on business assumptions, document methodologies, and drive adoption across teams.
- Operationalize models and pipelines using Databricks Workflows/Jobs, Delta Live Tables, MLflow (experiment tracking and registry), and robust data validation frameworks to ensure production-grade reliability.
**What are we looking for?
**
- Bachelor's Degree required, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in data analytics/science, revenue management, pricing, or promotions; experience in Tobacco or FMCG is desirable.
- Proficiency in Python with applied machine learning; familiarity with decision trees, reinforcement learning, Bayesian models, and clustering methods preferred.
- Experience with data visualization tools and dashboards (Tableau, Power BI) and strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint,



Databricks, plus ability to learn cloud-based apps.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken, with strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills; able to manage multiple stakeholders both virtually and in person.
- Proven time management skills with ability to meet strict deadlines and deliverables.
- Ability to design independently and deliver E2E analytics solutions per specification.
- High integrity, strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and ability to manage confidential information.
