PURCHASING OF DIRECT AND INDIRECT MATERIALS
- Manages the plant purchasing process for components and raw materials, and supervises activity for buyers, including but not limited to contracts, piece price negotiation, terms and conditions, planning of volume requirements, MRP transmission resolution of quality, delivery and cost issues.
- Manages the plant purchasing process for the acquisition of indirect materials, and supervises the overall activity on contracts, volume requirements, price negotiation and localization.
MATERIAL COST IMPROVEMENT PROCESS
- Manages the overall Material Cost Improvement Process (MCIP), Material Expenses improvement process (MEIT), and IMCIP (Indirect material cost improvement process).
- Coordinates the execution of MCIP/IMCIP/MEIT initiatives with the plant APUs,
the functions and the Change Implementation Leader for the plant.
- Implement Standard processes to develop, capture and review the progress on the initiatives towards reduction in price for indirect materials (IMCIP).
- Defines and execute a specific strategy for localization of components and raw materials.
- Participate in issues related to environmental, health and safety systems.
- Has responsibility to comply with guidelines, policies and procedures related to safety, environment and internal control.
