Reporting to the Manager, Social Impact based in the United States, the primary purpose of this position is to support our scholarship and employee participation programs in Mexico. The position requires a self-motivated professional who has experience and skills in engaging stakeholders and planning events that have high impact and amplify the TC Energy story.
What you’ll do
- Promote the TC Energy Scholarship program to communities in Mexico where TC Energia operates
- Coordinate the Scholarship review process with stakeholders from other business units, including External Relations, Human Resources, and Operations, ensuring compliance with corporate governance and program guidelines
- Identify political and stakeholder issues in collaboration with the external relations team, offering clear solutions
- Planning and executing scholarship award events in strategic communities, including but not limited to selecting venues, developing speaking points, and coordinating logistics with attendees
- Develop and implement activation plans for workforce giving and volunteering campaigns in Mexico, with special focus on Spring and Fall campaigns
- Educate the workforce on engagement opportunities and contribute towards enterprise participation goals
- Collaborate effectively with our communications team, resulting in creative, value-add content for internal and external audiences
- Leverage, track and report on the impact of our programs annually, recommending adjustments as appropriate
- Represent the company in both large and small public settings in a professional manner
- Special assignments that advance the Social Impact strategy, as required
Minimum qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience
- University degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Business Administration (or equivalent)
- Experience in community investment, social impact, philanthropy (in a corporate setting - preferred)
- Bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English)
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, developing metrics and delivering measurable results
- A customer service-oriented team player who can build rapport with team members, internal stakeholders and community partners with ease
- Ability to travel up to 25%, including occasional travel to Canada
- Versátil, able to work outside of business hours when necessary and comfortable working in a hybrid office/remote environment
Preferred qualifications
- 8 years of relevant experience
- A proactive, results-driven personality with strong consultation, negotiation, relationship building and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think strategically, weigh issues, and recommend effective solutions
- A strong passion for collaboration, organization and efficiency
- Energy industry experience
