We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of **DevOps AWS/RDS**
**Role Purpose**:
The role is a Technical Engineer in infrastructure technologies on distributed platforms focusing on administration of AWS RDS, on-prem Databases, hosted Automation with the latest technologies including Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraforms, Python and others. This will include working very closely with Technical SME’s in other infrastructure disciplines including but not limited to Digital Cloud Provisioning Services, Shared hosting Platforms and on premise technologies like IBM WebSphere MQ, WAS, MongoDB and Oracle Databases ensuring operational quality and efficiency for the major internet banking systems.
**Main Activities**:
- Lead for Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Jenkins, and DevOps skills.
- Technical SME for Infrastructure automation and associated technologies
- Responsible for infrastructure automation across regions
- Responsible for navigating across HSBC infrastructure teams and structures, able to communicate with all levels from engineers to management.
- Delivery of security enhancements and fixes as required.




- Experience of delivering enterprise scale infrastructure automation to aggressive timescales and targets
- Planning multiple work streams, delegating, and coordinating amongst colleagues.
- Reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Self-sufficient and demonstrating initiative.
- Service-oriented approach to ensuring service is priority.
- Automating to increase efficiency and improve quality.
- Flexible approach to working (location / availability)
Requirements- Overall Experience Required - 8-10+ years DevOps/Databases and AWS/Databases Experience - 3+ years.
- English Conversational Required
- AWS, DevOps, RDS (Relational Database Service), Scrum certified desirable.
- DB (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. knowledge desirable
- Shell scripting desirable
- End to end systems architecture knowledge.
- A sound understanding and working knowledge of HSBC processes (change management, ITSA, access management, tooling, data security, etc)
- DevOps principles for efficient delivery
- Mentoring and supporting colleagues.
- Infrastructure design and architecture - collaboration with Solution Architect and Lead Developers
