The Trainee: Engineer Maintenance position is designed to give young and fresh graduates engineers access to a practical work environment where they can learn from experts and adapt their theoretical knowledge. The Trainee will be responsible for carrying out detailed implementation of a variety of infrastructure maintenance programs at EWSC on all operational assets of the Region, managing asset care, to ensure effective, efficient and reliable operation of the Corporation asset and infrastructure based on life cycle cost. The Trainee will also provide hands on leadership for the day-to-day maintenance operation to improve equipment availability and efficiency across all equipment.
**Key Competencies**:
- Maintenance Management Systems: In-depth knowledge of Water systems including storage, well field operations, disinfection systems, treatment and supply and related preventative maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater quality control systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements related to water and wastewater infrastructure, including comprehensive knowledge of plant engineering standards and construction practices.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative professional working relationships and participate in projects regarding the facility to include community relations and professional associations.
- Technical Expertise: Expert-level skill in water treatment operations, equipment maintenance, regulatory requirements, and effective management.
- Data analytics and reporting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Control & Instrumentation Engineering.
