Role description: this is a full-time, 100% remote staff accountant / bookkeeper role open to candidates based in mexico. There is no on-site requirement — this position is fully remote.
the staff accountant / bookkeeper will own the full-cycle bookkeeping function for a portfolio of 10–12 u.based marketing and digital agency clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include recording and categorizing transactions in quick books online, processing accounts receivable and accounts payable, performing bank and credit card reconciliations, and executing month-end close for each client account.
this role also involves bookkeeping cleanup for new clients onboarding, catching up historical books, and ensuring clean, organized financials from day one. The staff accountant will prepare monthly financial reports (p& l, balance sheet, cash flow) and communicate findings clearly to internal leadership.
this is not a data entry role.



We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their client portfolio, catches issues proactively, and communicates clearly in english with our u. All internal and external communication at profit labs is conducted in english. Fluent english is a strict requirement for this position.

strong core accounting and bookkeeping skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, and reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts
experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, invoicing, and cash application
ability to execute month-end and year-end close, financial statement preparation, and basic financial analysis
experience with payroll processing
associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
tech-savvy: comfortable with cloud-based tools and learning new software quickly
