about the role

we are seeking an experienced systems engineer with strong expertise in vmware horizon (omnissa) , app volumes , and vdi automation. The idóneo candidate will be responsible for managing, updating, and automating horizon desktop images while ensuring seamless application delivery through app volumes. This role requires a proactive engineer who thrives in optimizing virtual desktop environments through scripting and automation.

key responsibilities

vmware horizon image management

maintain, update, and optimize vmware horizon (omnissa) desktop images. Apply windows os patches, security updates, and software enhancements. Validate updated images in test environments before production deployment. Deploy images using instant clones , horizon composer , or equivalent technologies. Ensure image consistency, stability, and high availability across the vdi environment.

app volumes administration

manage and deploy applications using vmware app volumes. Create, assign, and maintain application packages for various user groups. Optimize application delivery performance and user experience. Troubleshoot application layering and delivery issues.

automation & process improvement

develop automation scripts using power shell , vmware power cli , and related automation tools.



Automate image lifecycle management, application deployments, and routine administrative tasks. Design automated workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort. Implement monitoring, reporting, and process improvements for automated operations.

system administration & support

administer windows server environments and active directory. Manage group policies (gpos) and support enterprise authentication services. Troubleshoot vmware horizon, app volumes, windows, and networking issues. Collaborate with infrastructure and support teams to maintain a secure and reliable vdi platform.

required skills

strong experience with vmware horizon (omnissa) administration hands-on expertise with vmware app volumes experience managing vdi environments strong scripting skills in power shell and vmware power cli windows server administration active directory & group policy management vmware instant clones / horizon composer virtual desktop image management application packaging & delivery monitoring, performance tuning & troubleshooting networking fundamentals (dns, dhcp, tcp/ip)

preferred qualifications

experience with enterprise-scale vdi deployments. Knowledge of workflow automation and infrastructure automation frameworks. Vmware certifications are a plus. Experience with enterprise monitoring and reporting tools.
