We are seeking a Senior Banking Accounting & Financial Reporting Specialist with strong experience in Mexican banking accounting regulations to support the interpretation, implementation, and documentation of accounting standards applicable to financial institutions. The adecuado candidate will have experience preparing financial statement disclosures (notes), analyzing regulatory accounting impacts, and developing accounting guidance for banking products.
This role requires a solid understanding of Annex 33 (Anexo 33), banking accounting regulations, and financial reporting within a regulated banking environment.
What you will work on
Prepare and review financial statement disclosures (notes) in accordance with Mexican banking accounting regulations.
Analyze and interpret accounting standards and regulatory changes published by regulatory authorities, including updates in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federación).
Assess the accounting impact of new regulations on the bank's financial reporting and communicate conclusions to key stakeholders.
Support the development of accounting memorandums, technical guidance, and internal accounting policies.
Review and maintain accounting mappings between general ledger accounts and regulatory reporting classifications.
Perform accounting mapping between local banking accounting standards and US GAAP reporting requirements, when applicable.
Develop and maintain accounting matrices, accounting guides, and documentation supporting regulatory reporting.
Analyze accounting treatment related to loan portfolios, deposits, treasury operations, cash, and other banking products.
Collaborate with Accounting, Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Treasury, and Credit Portfolio teams to ensure consistency in accounting treatment.
Participate in continuous improvements of accounting documentation and reporting processes.
