SKFislookingforaproactiveandanalyticalDirectMaterialsBuyertojoinourPurchasingteamattheMonterreyPlantinGuadalupe,NuevoLeón.

Inthisrole,youwillmanagetheoperationalpurchasingactivitiesforassigneddirectmaterialcategories,supporttheimplementationoflocal,regional,andglobalsourcingstrategies,andcollaboratecloselywithinternalstakeholdersandsuppliers.Youwillberesponsibleforsuppliernegotiations,costanalysis,contractimplementation,sourcingprojects,supplierperformance,andcontinuousimprovementinitiatives.

Thepositionrequiresautonomy,stronganalyticalcapabilities,advancednegotiationskills,andtheabilitytooperateeffectivelyinamulticulturalandcross-functionalenvironment.Therolesupportsbothinternalandexternalcustomersandoffersapotentialdevelopmentpathtowardamanagementposition.

KeyResponsibilities

- ManagepurchasingactivitiesforassigneddirectmaterialcategoriesinaccordancewithSKFpurchasingstrategies,policies,andestablishedframeworks.
- Reviewpurchaserequisitionsandidentifyappropriatesourcesofsupplyforoperationalandspot-buyingrequirements.
- Negotiatecommercialconditionsandexecutesupplieragreementswithintheassignedlevelofauthority.
- Selectsuppliersandcontractsbasedonpurchasingstrategies,operationalrequirements,costcompetitiveness,quality,delivery,andapplicableprocedures.
- Adviseinternalstakeholdersthroughoutthepurchasingcycle,includingtheevaluationofcost-effectivealternativesandtheresolutionofpurchasing-relatedissues.
- Collaboratewithsuppliersandinternaluserstoresolvecommercial,operational,quality,andsupply-relatedconflicts.
- MonitorsupplierperformanceaccordingtoestablishedQCDIMprocessesandcoordinatecorrectiveactionswhenrequired.
- Trackpurchasingspend,supplierpricing,materialcosts,forecasts,andvolumestosupportbusinessplanningandstandardcostcalculations.
- Supporttheimplementationofpurchasingprocesses,systems,sustainabilityrequirements,CSRinitiatives,andsupplierdevelopmentactivities.
- Participateinlocal,regional,andglobalstrategicsourcinginitiatives.
- Providelocalmarketinformationandpurchasingdatatoglobalandregionalcategorymanagementteams.




- SupportRFIandRFPprocesses,includinginformationvalidation,supplierevaluation,andsupplierselection.
- CollaboratewithGlobalCategoryManagersandinternalstakeholderstoensurethesuccessfullocalimplementationofsourcingstrategiesandnewcontracts.
- Monitorcontractcompliancewithinternalstakeholdersandsuppliers,identifyingandimplementingcorrectiveactionswhennecessary.
- SupportSeniorBuyersandthePurchasingManagerinbiddingprocesses,suppliermanagement,andsourcinginitiativesforuniqueorspecializedcategories.
- Executeinternalapprovalandindustrializationprocessesfornewprojects,ensuringalignmentwithAPQP,QCDIM,andcustomer-specificrequirements.
- Identify,analyze,validate,implement,andreportcost-savinginitiativesincollaborationwithsuppliers,categorymanagers,andinternalstakeholders.
- PerformallpurchasingactivitiesinaccordancewiththeSKFCodeofConduct,EnvironmentalHealthandSafetyrequirements,theQualityManagementSystem,andapplicableinternalpolicies.

- Experience4to6yearsofprofessionalexperienceindirectmaterialspurchasing,strategicsourcing,supplychain,orarelatedprocurementfunction.
- Previousexperienceintheautomotiveorindustrialmanufacturingsector.
- Experiencemanagingdirectmaterialcategoriessuchasmetalliccomponents,plastics,forgings,seals,orsimilarcommoditiesispreferred.
- Demonstratedexperienceinsuppliermanagement,commercialnegotiations,sourcingprojects,andcost-savinginitiatives.
- Experienceworkingwithmulticulturalandcross-functionalteams.
