Summary
Deeply knowledgeable in purchasing operations and system tools with a strong background in procurement processes. This role acts as a primary functional partner for Buyers, guiding them through Jabil’s standardized purchasing processes, resolving complex operational questions, and leading the testing and deployment of new tools from a practical buyer’s perspective. A creative and proactive contributor to the Materials department, focused on process mapping, standardization, continuous improvement, and corporate consistency across sites.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.

Buyer Guidance & Operational Support:

Provide direct support to Buyers by resolving both routine and advanced system or operational inquiries that require investigation and research.

Guide purchasing teams in adhering to Jabil’s standardized procurement processes, best practices, and system workflows.

Support Buyers in managing supplier relations to obtain critical operational reports (e.g., Open Order Reports / OPOR) and drive the adoption/onboarding of Jabil supplier tools.

Process Standardization & Business Mapping:

Actively participate in the definition, mapping, and documentation of business processes, policies, and standard work instructions (WI).

Identify process gaps and opportunities for improvement to establish robust, scalable procurement workflows.

Tool Deployment & User Acceptance Testing (UAT):

Lead the testing, validation, and rollout of new tools, system enhancements, and upgrades from an experienced Purchasing user perspective.

Gather and detail functional requirements for Business Development Requests (BDRs) originated by the department.





Training & Enablement:

Define and conduct functional training for new hires and existing Materials team members regarding new tools, upgrades, and standardized procedures.

Work in coordination with corporate competency centers to schedule workshops and ongoing training.

Cross-Functional Planning Alignment:

Understand core Supply Chain Planning fundamentals—including demand management, BOM explosive structures, and how demand shifts impact MRP, purchasing schedules, and lead times.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

2+ years of direct experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Operations.

APICS / CPIM or ISM certification is a plus.

Functional & Technical Skills

Purchasing & Systems Expertise: Solid understanding of SAP Purchasing modules, PO execution, vendor management, and purchasing system tools.

Planning Foundations: Practical understanding of planning basics (Demand, MRP, BOM structure, lead times).

Supplier Engagement: Ability to guide Buyers on supplier communication strategies and tool adoption.

Nice to Have (Preferred Skills)

Basic Programming Knowledge: Exposure to programming concepts or completed coursework in logic/coding (e.g., VBA, Python, SQL, or general logic) is a strong advantage for process automation alignment.

Power BI Experience: End-user proficiency in Power BI to analyze data, interpret dashboards, and leverage reports for decision-making (developer experience is not required, but analytical familiarity is a plus).
