Responsible for timely material supply, as well as preparing and coordinating the production schedule with the various areas of the organization, following up on priorities and company-defined metrics. Optimizes inventory in order to achieve targets. Provides supply chain-related support as needed.
Responsibilities
PRODUCTION CONTROL
- Develops production schedules based on customer orders, ensuring a 94% LISC and keeping the cell in continuous production to avoid downtime.
- Establishes and monitors shipment targets based on production, and follows up on JOBs with more than 1 day of waiting after being sent to manufacturing for release and printing.
- Communicates and coordinates with Logistics and Purchasing when inventory levels fall below production requirements.
- Follows up on manufacturing operation sequence and lead time.
- Reviews production requirements in MRP, both timing and material needs.
- Levels demand based on available resources, using a rolling 3-month window updated monthly; provides work plans to meet customer requirements.
- Ensures there is a plan/demand and materials for a full 1-week horizon, confirming every Thursday to support lean staffing.
- Ensures all monthly subassemblies are on hand to avoid delays when releasing JOBs.
- Aligns with the inventory reduction program by continuously evaluating inventory levels to prevent or identify excess.
- Monitors proper material flow with suppliers (through expediting) and within the plant, ensuring compliance with procedures.
INVENTORY CONTROL
- Implements control and organization systems including Kanban, MRP, JIT, ParZap, and PFEP.
CONSIGNMENT MATERIAL
- Monitors standard target inventory quantities and ensures they are maintained.
- Analyzes disposition of excess and obsolete inventory and takes preventive actions.
- Ensures subassembly JOBs have the required maintenance and receipt transactions completed to avoid cell delays and status 11.
