A leading international energy company is seeking a Senior Drilling Engineer to lead the planning, engineering, execution support and post-well evaluation of complex deepwater drilling projects in Mexico. The role covers the full well lifecycle, from concept and design through operational execution and closeout, with a strong emphasis on safety, operational excellence and cost optimization.
What You'll Do
- Develop detailed drilling and well construction programs.
- Design casing programs, well trajectories and directional drilling plans.
- Prepare drilling budgets, AFEs and cost estimates.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, DWOP and technical workshops.
- Lead technical evaluations during tendering and support contract management.
- Support offshore drilling operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
- Monitor drilling performance, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare End of Well Reports and capture lessons learned for future campaigns.
What We're Looking For
- Engineering degree.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer.
- Proven experience in Deepwater drilling operations.
- Strong knowledge of well planning, drilling engineering and operational execution.
- Experience with Landmark software (OpenWells, WellPlan, WellCat or similar).
- Experience using SAP is desirable.
- Knowledge of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD), fractured carbonates or pre-salt environments is an advantage.
- Advanced English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
