Position Summary The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for managing the Product Lifecycle for Switchgear design. Switchgear is primarily an Engineered-To-Order (ETO) product, which means each customer order is specifically engineered for each customer. JOB DESCRIPTION The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for managing the Product Lifecycle for Switchgear design. Responsibilities Maintain Switchgear design within Oracle Product Lifecycle Management Improve Design for Manufacturability (Safety, Quality, and Efficiency) Provide design support for issues discovered during production Provide design support for supply chain issues Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) Ensure quality of ETO design before released to production. Qualifications 1-3+ years of experience in product design Bachelor’s degree in any relevant engineering field 1-3+ years of experience in 3 D modeling / 2 D drafting Ability to create and troubleshoot control wiring diagrams Experience in Design for Manufacturability Excellent communications skills – written & verbal Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS No special physical requirements Time Travel Required 5% The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
