who we're looking for:

we are looking for a senior financial controller / finance & management control specialist based in mexico. The adecuado candidate will bridge the gap between our local operation (including our outsourced accounting agency) and the group's corporate internal audit team based in spain.

we value deep experience in the service provider, tech, or it consulting industry, specifically in project profitability management, revenue recognition, and financial supervision. The main objective of this role is to implement exhaustive, proactive control over local finances, mitigate post-closing accounting errors, and work hand-in-hand with business managers to secure operational margins, avoid billing delays, and optimize accounts receivable.

this position reports directly to the group's internal audit and finance department in spain and requires a professional who is comfortable standing up as a financial counterweight to the commercial team.

location: mexico (hybrid/remote according to policy). Reporting line: group internal audit & corporate finance (spain). English level: highly recommended for specific cross-border reporting and eventual coordination.

qualifications / skills:

advanced management control and corporate finance skills. Expertise in mexican accounting standards (nif), tax frameworks (sat, cfdi validation), and outsourced accounting agency management. Strong analysis of project profitability (gross margin, resource utilization, and revenue recognition). Experience with erps, analytical tools (tableau, zoho books), and advanced financial modeling in excel. High level of assertiveness, stakeholder management, and ability to challenge commercial assumptions (business managers / sales team). Approach to unbilled work or aged debt.

job responsibilities:

1. Financial control, project profitability & commercial counterweight

margin & contract validation time-tracking & billing enforcement: review and cross-check that 100% of the operational hours reported by the technical team are correctly billed to clients. Accounts receivable guard:



supervise the accounts receivable aging report. Coordinate directly with clients and local business managers to enforce collections, escalate overdue invoices to group internal audit, and avoid mandatory bad-debt provisions at the semester-end closures.

2. Accounting oversight & closing liaison:

coordinate and calculate intercompany invoices and provisions. Reconciliation: monthly review of trial balance. Reconcile bank accounts in foreign currencies, review outstanding vendor balances, ensure correct cost-center allocation and audit fixed assets integration (it equipment/furniture). Period-end audit readiness

education, experience, and licensing requirements:

bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. An mba or master's in financial management/controlling is a plus. Minimum 5–6 years of experience in financial controlling, corporate audit, or senior finance management roles, preferably within the tech / it staffing / consulting sectors. Strong understanding of mexican tax legislation (sat requirements) and experience auditing external accounting offices. Proven experience working within international reporting matrixes (coordination with european/spanish parent companies is highly valued). Proactive, direct, and straightforward personality. Excellent communication skills to align or confront business units on margin issues.
