RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to reduce waste, improve quality, and increase throughput.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and R&D; to resolve manufacturing issues and support new product introductions (NPI).
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flow diagrams.
- Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage capital projects related to manufacturing equipment and facility improvements, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Support capacity planning and production scalability to meet business growth objectives.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities for manufacturing non-conformances.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to optimize equipment uptime and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Lead manufacturing engineering activities supporting daily production to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity targets are achieved.
- Drive Manufacturing Readiness for New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring successful product launches.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, automation, material utilization, and labor efficiency improvements.
- Develop and execute Manufacturing Engineering roadmaps aligned with plant strategic objectives.
- Manage engineering priorities, project execution, and resource allocation across multiple product lines.
- Coach and develop engineers through performance management, technical mentoring, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Partner with Global Engineering teams to implement design changes, engineering changes (ECO/CO), and manufacturing best practices.
- Support digital manufacturing initiatives including MES, ERP, automation, data analytics, and Industry projects.
- Ensure compliance with VOS (Vertiv Operating System), Lean Manufacturing principles, and standard work.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (assembly, SMT, machining, etc.).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software, ERP systems (Oracle or SAP), and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- English communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to effectively communicate with integral teams and participate in meetings conducted in English.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects.
- Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume and/or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Validation, DOE, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Master's degree in engineering or MBA.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience with automation and robotics integration.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality management systems.
