Role Description
The Vice President of Business Development is a full-time remote role responsible for driving growth across Vertex’s payment processing, orchestration, and corporate card offerings. This role leads the development and execution of business development strategies, identifies new market opportunities, and builds a robust pipeline of prospective clients and partners. Day-to-day activities include overseeing end-to-end sales cycles, guiding contract negotiations, collaborating with product and operations teams to shape market-fit solutions, and establishing long-term relationships with key accounts. The Vice President will set performance targets, monitor business development metrics, and mentor team members to ensure consistent, sustainable revenue growth. This position also represents Vertex at industry events, contributes to strategic planning, and helps refine go-to-market approaches.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in New Business Development and Sales, including building pipelines and closing complex deals in fintech or financial services.




- Strong skills in Business Planning, with a track record of developing and executing growth strategies and market expansion plans.
- Proficiency in Contract Negotiation, including managing commercial terms and aligning agreements with organizational goals and risk guidelines.
- Experience in Account Management, with the ability to nurture strategic client relationships and drive long-term value.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing business development or sales teams and collaborating effectively across functions.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with comfort engaging senior stakeholders and external partners.
- Background in fintech, payments, corporate cards, or related sectors is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
