POSITION SUMMARY
Transportation Senior Buyer
The Senior buyer is a specialist and regional subject matter expert in one or more areas as of 1. Services, 2. Knowledge of transportation/logistics commodity, 3. Transportation Market, 4. Knowledge on Sub-contracting laws and regulations, 5. Knowledge on sourcing for different modes of transportation (Road, Sea, Air). This position requires to work with over 50 plants all over Mexico, Nicaragua, el Salvador and USA members, , BU and Finance team to identify the best of the best suppliers: service, quality cost and delivery for Yazaki.
The ultimate purpose for this position is to improve cost and stability in all YNCA manufacturing operations
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a very high level of skill and ownership for the relevant subject
- Prepare procure strategies by categories: road freight, sea, air
- Provide expertise to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality, and delivery time.
- Researching, selecting, and purchasing Competitive Transportation Services
- Building relationships with suppliers and negotiating with them for the best prices
- Lead improvement activities and workshops
- Communicate globally (Spanish/English): verbal, written and in person (present)
- Work independently
- Processing requisitions and updating management on the status of orders
- Support the identification of new supplier, services, and integration.
