The Import Compliance Manager is part of the Border Operations organization within Clarios, responsible for leading and ensuring full compliance with Export-Import regulatory requirements related to the movement and handling of hazardous materials / dangerous goods and hazardous waste across North America. You evaluate compliance with applicable Export-Import regulations — including the submission of SEMARNAT Import Request files as required — and play a critical role in maintaining proactive, effective communication with the regulatory authorities involved in the importation process. Partnering with EHS, Trade Compliance, Logistics, the Transportation Regulatory Manager, and Supply Chain, you ensure the effective administration of import permit use reports, hazardous waste permits, and transportation-related regulatory requirements — supporting Clarios' commitment to a world-class closed-loop recycling network.
Regulatory compliance & permitting: evaluate compliance with all applicable international, federal, state,



and local Export-Import regulations for hazardous waste and hazardous materials / dangerous goods; Permit administration: own and manage the administration of Import Permit Use Reports, Hazardous Waste permits, and Hazardous Materials / Dangerous Goods Transportation Permits, monitoring utilization and identifying risks, gaps, or non-compliance issues.
act as the primary liaison with federal, state, and local authorities during inspections, audits, and compliance reviews; Advisory & regulatory strategy: advise the organization on regulatory changes and emerging requirements, proactively drive the implementation of best practices and proper execution of compliance standards, and conduct regulatory risk assessments with recommended mitigation actions.
Audits & continuous improvement: lead compliance audits and follow-ups for third-party providers at the border, Mexico-based operations, and recycling centers; and conduct training and gap analysis on hazard
