About Us
O & APV (Out & About Puerto Vallarta) is marking its 10th anniversary as a trusted voice for the LGBTQ+ community and visitors here. For a decade we've covered local news, culture, and community life through our print magazine, website, and social channels — connecting residents and tourists to the people, places, and events that define Puerto Vallarta's LGBTQ+ scene. As we start our next chapter, we're looking for an Editor to help shape where our editorial voice goes from here.

The Role
We need a bilingual Editor to lead editorial content and day-to-day operations across our magazine and digital platforms. This is a contractor role for someone self-motivated who can juggle multiple priorities independently while working alongside a small team of staff, volunteers, and contributors.

Requirements
Fluent in English and Spanish, spoken and written — required
Based in Puerto Vallarta or the immediate surrounding area
Strong writing,



editing, and storytelling skills in both languages
Background in communications or journalism, formal training or degree preferred
Experience managing content across print, web, and social media
Comfortable with photography and basic creative direction
Organized and deadline-driven, with experience managing people and projects
Genuine connection to or understanding of the LGBTQ+ community
Comfortable representing the brand publicly at local events

What You'll Do
Editorial
Source and oversee news and local stories relevant to the LGBT community and tourists, in English and Spanish as needed
Direct cover photo concepts and give instructions to photographers
Assign stories to staff and volunteers, track progress, and keep everyone on deadline
Write copy for the quarterly print editions
Shoot photos as needed
Write and post one to two stories a day to our digital properties
Create a variety of
