Job Summary As a Test Equipment Engineer with the Nidec Aerospace team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of electric aviation. You’ll have the opportunity to apply and grow your expertise by designing, developing, and maintaining test benches and equipment that ensure product quality and compliance with rigorous technical standards. Your work will directly support the advancement of electric propulsion systems for battery‑powered aircraft, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient way of moving people and goods from point A to point B.
Responsibilities & Duties Verify lower‑level requirements capture (hardware, software, and firmware)
Oversee hardware, software, and firmware activities to ensure successful equipment integration
Integrate hardware, software, and firmware
Plan functional and environmental equipment tests
Execute functional and environmental test procedures
Work in collaboration with the engineering team to define the laboratory test strategy
Specify test benches to support the development of the electrical propulsion system—including controls, motors, and integration
Specify the test benches data acquisition, data stimulus, test interfaces and features to improve test capabilities
Integrate the test benches with model‑based design
Assure the quality of the test labs to deliver robust test results and representativeness with the final product
Develop test reports and analyze test results in collaboration with the engineering team
Apply experience in requirements management to be an essential player on the V&V; process
Be responsible for the test benches commissioning, guaranteeing the integration of the parts
Technical Attributes Experience with electronic product development and phase‑gate processes
Experience in testing electromechanical propulsion
Experience in testing high‑voltage motor control equipment
Experience with testing safety‑critical controllers
Experience with requirements‑based development, requirements management and V&V; process
Experience with integration of hardware, software and firmware
Experience with equipment‑level safety assessment
Experience with ARP 4754A, ARP‑4761, DO‑160, DO‑254
Experience with IBM DOORS or JAMA
Willingness to work with, and travel to, domestic and international design and manufacturing locations when necessary
Electronics, instrumentation, and measurement systems knowledge
Integration of test labs with model‑based design
Proficiency in English
Visa and passport required
Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering, control engineering, or a related field
5 years of experience in electronic product development or in system testing and system integration
Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to analyze and improve complex processes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment
Experience with development apps with functional C++ on LabVIEW
Proficiency in English
Visa and passport required
