The Center for Applied Aquaculture Innovation (CAAI) is a pioneering organization dedicated to advancing regenerative aquaculture through applied innovation, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and strategic partnerships.

Based in La Paz, Baja California Sur, CAAI connects science, industry, communities, and global partners to develop practical solutions that restore ocean health, strengthen food security, and build resilient coastal economies. As the first center of its kind focused on warm-water aquaculture, CAAI is building a global platform for innovation with local roots and international impact.

Purpose of the Position
The Liaison Coordinator will serve as the connective tissue between CAAI and its diverse ecosystem of stakeholders. This role is responsible for building and nurturing strategic relationships, coordinating institutional engagement efforts, and ensuring opportunities identified externally are effectively connected with internal teams to accelerate CAAI's mission and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, academic institutions, industry leaders, startups, producers, investors, and strategic partners.

Map, prioritize, and manage stakeholder engagement activities aligned with organizational objectives.

Coordinate meetings, workshops, field visits, and relationship‑building initiatives.

Support the development and follow‑up of collaboration agreements, MoUs, and strategic partnerships.

Facilitate engagement with local, national, and international organizations relevant to aquaculture, innovation, workforce development, and sustainability.

Coordinate consultants and advisors supporting public affairs, communications, and government relations.





Monitor policy developments and identify opportunities for institutional collaboration.

Represent CAAI in forums, working groups, and strategic networks when appropriate.

Coordinate with communications and marketing consultants to ensure consistency of messaging and brand positioning.

Support the creation of presentations, newsletters, briefing materials, media kits, and outreach content.

Contribute to positioning CAAI as a leading voice in regenerative aquaculture and ocean innovation.

Act as a bridge between external opportunities and internal teams, maintaining databases of contacts, agreements, and institutional engagements.

Coordinate follow‑up actions and ensure accountability across stakeholders.

Prepare reports, updates, and briefing notes for leadership and steering committee discussions.

Requirements and competences to work with us
Education

Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Communications, Public Affairs, Business Administration, Political Science, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or related fields.

Postgraduate studies in project management, stakeholder engagement, sustainability, public policy, or communications are desirable.

Experience

3–6 years of professional experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership management, institutional relations, communications, public affairs, project coordination, or similar functions.

Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups simultaneously.

Exposure to sustainability, innovation ecosystems, education, entrepreneurship, social impact, public‑private collaboration, or environmental sectors is highly valued.

Experience coordinating projects or initiatives with multiple moving parts.
