*Must have IPC620 Experience*

The Source Inspector (SI) is responsible for performing inspection operations of in‑process or completed hardware, including dimensional and visual inspection. Source inspection may include reviewing all paperwork related to the product, final inspection, receiving inspection, outside processing, and assembly. The SI verifies FAI’s against AS9102 for accuracy and completeness, uses hand tools and gaging techniques, and interprets B/P and GD&T.; Inspectures occur at end‑customer suppliers’ locations, requiring travel.

Job Responsibilities

Dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components

Perform FAI’s – AS9102

Use hand measurement tools

Apply knowledge of CMM inspection process

Utilize GD&T; (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint interpretation

Conduct final and receiving inspections (dimensional, visual, surface finish, and assembly)

Read, interpret, and apply quality policies, procedures, and documents

Process warehouse materials

Follow established guidelines and procedures

Support corrective actions and root‑cause identification

Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills

Experience with dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components

Experience conducting FAI’s – AS9102

Proficient with hand measurement gages and conventional inspection techniques

Knowledge of GD&T; and blueprint interpretation

MS Outlook and Excel proficiency

Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Additional Desired Skills

Practical experience with quality inspection tools and equipment

Experience in RCCA and problem solving

Additional Qualifications (Preferred)

3+ years as a quality inspector or technician

3+ years in an aerospace manufacturing facility

3+ years in inspection duties, including FAI’s, GD&T;, and blueprint interpretation

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Effective communication skills

Preferred detail orientation

Any combination of education and experience considered

Vision Requirements

Near vision: meets Orthorater 8 (95% or Jaeger #2 at 12 inches)

Far vision: meets Orthorater 4 (76%) or Snellen Chart 20/50

Color perception: 6 of 9 Orthorater plates US or international citizenship or permanent residence status required depending on work location

Working Conditions

Productivity: perform work efficiently, effectively, and timely with minimal direction

Mobility: perform light lifting, prolonged sitting, occasional standing, walking (approx. 1–2 miles), reaching, climbing, and balance; drive long distances to suppliers as needed; lift up to 20 pounds

Vision: sufficient to read documents, computer screens, and observe others; includes close, distance, color, peripheral, and focus adjustment

Environment: typical office conditions with quality management, SMS, and external customers; moderate to high noise levels

Other factors: Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; occasional extended hours and weekend overtime
