We are looking for a Regional Category Manager Mechanics & New Products to develop and execute regional category strategies that optimize cost, quality, availability, and supplier performance. This role drives cross-functional collaboration, manages strategic supplier relationships, identifies sourcing opportunities, and ensures the timely delivery of spare parts and services to support business objectives and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute purchasing strategies based on the
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
approach.
Manage direct purchasing of mechanical components, including plastics, housings, metal parts, heatsinks, and wiring harnesses.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements with suppliers.
Conduct market research, supplier benchmarking, and competitor analysis.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure the best sourcing solutions.
Plan and control material cost reduction and cost optimization initiatives.
Define sourcing strategies, including supplier allocation, dual sourcing, and make-or-buy decisions.
Perform supplier performance and risk assessments.




Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new project launches and supply chain requirements.
Ensure material availability to support production and business needs.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.
Experience in Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Procurement, or Purchasing preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Technical knowledge of Spare Parts, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), industrial equipment, or indirect materials.
Understanding of SMT and THT manufacturing processes, industrial maintenance or manufacturing engineering
is highly desirable.
Strong negotiation, analytical and commercial acumen with a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) mindset.
Proficiency in SAP (R/3 or S/4HANA) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken). NECESSARY
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project coordination skills.
