brackets are the physical backbone of the powertrain interfacing directly with engines, transmissions, chassis, and thermal systems. In this role, you won’t be a cog in a massive machine stuck on a single tiny part for years. You will own full, end-to-end component release, working across cross-functional integration teams, managing suppliers, and gaining direct exposure to the entire vehicle architecture. If you are a contract dre, a tier-1 design engineer, or a skilled cad designer ready to take total ownership of product releases from concept to production launch, this is your platform to step up.
responsibilities
- end-to-end release ownership: manage powertrain brackets and structural mounting components from early concept and package feasibility through tooling, validation, and full volume production.
- cad & packaging: develop and refine 3d models and 2d detail drawings using catia v5 or siemens nx, conducting packaging and clearance checks within complex powertrain environments.
- cross-functional integration: collaborate with engine, chassis, nvh, thermal, and vehicle integration leads to resolve clearance, fit, and structural interface challenges.
- quality & validation: lead engineering documentation including dfmea, dvp&r;, and gd&t; application; review validation test results (dv/pv) and drive root-cause analysis for build issues.
- engineering change management: process engineering changes (cns, release gates,
drawing updates) in plm systems (teamcenter/enovia).
- supplier & plant support: partner with supplier engineers on manufacturability (castings, stampings, weldments) and support physical prototype/pilot builds at manufacturing facilities.
qualifications
- education: bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electromechanical, or related field.
- experience: 2+ years of experience in automotive product development, component design, or engineering release.
required skills
- cad & plm proficiency: hands-on experience with catia v5, siemens nx, or solidworks, along with familiarity in plm data management software (e.g., teamcenter).
- engineering core: solid understanding of gd&t;, drafting standards, and basic strength of materials / structural fundamentals.
- development process knowledge: exposure to vehicle development tools (dfmea, dvp&r;, or engineering change orders).
- language: professional working proficiency in english.
preferred skills
- background: background in structural sheet metal, stampings, or aluminum/iron castings. Or plastics.
- direct experience: direct experience as a design & release engineer (dre) for oem or tier-1 systems (interior, exterior, body, or powertrain).
- experience transitioning: experience transitioning products from cad concept into physical plant builds.
