: Technical Solution Architect (ABAP)

Position Summary The Technical Solution Architect (ABAP) is responsible for designing and overseeing SAP technical solutions with a strong focus on ABAP development within S/4HANA and ECC environments. This role serves as a bridge between business requirements, functional design, and technical implementation, ensuring scalable, efficient, and high-quality SAP solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards. The position also supports the adoption of modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled capabilities, to improve solution quality, delivery efficiency, and long-term maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

- - Define, design, and govern SAP ABAP technical architecture in alignment with project and enterprise requirements.
- Provide guidance on ABAP development standards, performance optimization, and best practices in S/4HANA environments.
- Lead technical design sessions and translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Evaluate existing custom developments and recommend remediation, simplification, or optimization approaches.
- Oversee and review developments, including RICEF objects, CDS Views, OData Services, Enhancements, and Interfaces.
- Collaborate with functional, integration, and BASIS teams to ensure end-to-end technical integrity.
- Provide thought leadership on ABAP modernization, including HANA-optimized code, RAP, and Fiori enablement.
- Support the identification and application of AI-enabled use cases within SAP programs, such as intelligent automation, code analysis support, process simplification,



and decision support.
- Guide teams on responsible and practical use of AI-assisted development tools where appropriate, including productivity, quality, and documentation improvements.
- Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and enterprise architecture guidelines.
- Mentor ABAP developers and contribute to building technical capability within the team.
- Support project planning, estimation, and delivery in SAP transformation initiatives.
- Contribute to modernization strategies that may include automation, intelligent workflows, and AI-supported operational improvements.

Qualifications

- - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, with at least 3+ years as a technical architect or lead.
- Strong expertise in ABAP Objects, CDS Views, OData Services, AMDP, Enhancements, BADIs, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA conversions, greenfield implementations, and system integrations.
- Knowledge of SAP BTP, Fiori, RAP model, and modern ABAP programming practices.
- Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, and ALM tools.
- Strong architectural thinking and solution-design capabilities.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a complex environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Team mentoring and capability-building mindset.
- Solid understanding of how AI can support SAP delivery, including development productivity, test support, documentation, code quality analysis, and automation opportunities.
- Ability to assess where AI-enabled solutions are appropriate in enterprise SAP environments, with attention to governance, security, and business value.

Skills





- - Experience with SAP BTP services that support automation, integration, or intelligent extensions.
- Exposure to SAP AI-related capabilities, intelligent automation, or process optimization initiatives.
- Familiarity with using AI-assisted tools to improve development velocity, technical documentation, testing, or remediation efforts.
- Experience supporting modernization roadmaps that incorporate automation and AI-enabled services.
- Knowledge of emerging SAP innovation patterns and how they can be applied in enterprise transformation programs.
- SAP ABAP on HANA or SAP S/4HANA Development certification.
- An appreciation for innovation, continuous improvement, and modern delivery approaches, including automation and AI-enabled services.

Education & Certifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- SAP ABAP on HANA certification or SAP S/4HANA Development certification is highly desirable.
- Certifications or training related to SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, RAP, or enterprise architecture are a plus.
- Training or exposure to AI, intelligent automation, or data-driven solution design is an advantage
