Description

Role Purpose The Technical Instructor (Automotive) is responsible for preparing, delivering, and overseeing in-person and virtual technical training programs for the dealer network in accordance with the established training matrix.

This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and an open mindset to effectively transfer knowledge and experience to others while ensuring high-quality learning outcomes. The instructor leads and supports groups of professional technicians, providing guidance, technical clarification, and coaching throughout the training process.

In addition to delivering training, the instructor collaborates with cross-functional teams on operational initiatives and actively participates in continuous improvement activities, including the implementation of 5S practices.

Key Accountabilities

Technical Training Delivery

- Deliver automotive technical training programs according to the approved training calendar.
- Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions for dealership technicians and technical staff.
- Lead groups of professional technicians, ensuring an engaging and effective learning environment.
- Provide technical support, coaching, and resolution of participant questions throughout training sessions.

Training Content Development & Quality Assurance

- Review training materials and course content, providing continuous feedback to improve effectiveness and relevance.
- Support the updating and enhancement of technical training content to align with product and technology developments.
- Conduct pre-training validation and practical testing of systems, equipment, and vehicles to ensure training materials are accurate and applicable.
- Verify that training methodologies and materials consistently meet learning objectives and technical standards.

Training Operations & Resource Management

- Ensure the availability and readiness of all equipment, tools, vehicles, systems,



and resources required for both classroom and virtual training delivery.
- Coordinate training logistics to ensure sessions are executed efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain training facilities, equipment, and technical resources in optimal operating condition.

Project Coordination & Operational Support

- Plan, monitor, and report on assigned operational and training-related projects.
- Track project progress and provide status updates, including KPI reporting when required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of technical and organizational projects.

Continuous Improvement & 5S Implementation

- Implement and promote 5S methodologies within training environments and Gemba activities.
- Drive workplace organization, efficiency, and safety through continuous improvement practices.
- Support a culture of operational excellence and knowledge sharing across the organization.

Continuous Learning & Technical Development

- Participate in ongoing technical development through e-learning, classroom, and virtual training programs.
- Attend new product and vehicle launch training sessions to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge.
- Utilize technical information platforms and resources to reinforce learning and support instructional effectiveness.
- Stay current with emerging automotive technologies, diagnostic systems, and repair methodologies.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Capability

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering,



Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience within automotive dealerships or service operations preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience delivering technical training and facilitating groups.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively transfer technical knowledge to diverse audiences.
- Experience working within structured training programs and competency development environments.

Technical Strength

- Strong automotive technical knowledge and diagnostic capabilities.
- Knowledge of workshop tools, metrology equipment, electrical diagrams, and automotive electrical circuits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and apply practical automotive repair methodologies.
- Familiarity with technical information systems and learning management platforms is advantageous.
