the opportunity
we are not looking for an integration coordinator. We are looking for a technical leader who has built and owned enterprise-grade integration systems at scale. You will manage the design and delivery of complex b2b integrations across hris platforms, lead a team of integration engineers, and own the architecture that connects our saas platform to the enterprise systems our clients run. You will be hands-on enough to review code, unblock your team, and make real architectural decisions—not just manage a backlog.
what you'll own
integration architecture & strategy
- own the end-to-end integration architecture across the platform, including api-first design, event-driven patterns, and messaging-based integration systems.
- define and enforce standards for b2b integration design, including error handling, retry logic, observability, and sla management.
- architect scalable, high-performance distributed integration systems that operate reliably at enterprise volume.
- evaluate and recommend integration middleware, ipaas tooling, and cloud-native integration services on azure.
- drive adoption of modern integration patterns including webhooks, async messaging, and real-time event streaming.
hris & enterprise platform integrations
- lead design and delivery of integrations with workday and other enterprise hris platforms (sap successfactors, ukg, oracle hcm, or equivalent).
- oversee data mapping, transformation logic, and field-level validation across complex enterprise data models.
- ensure integrations align with client security, compliance, and data governance requirements.
- partner with client-facing teams to scope, design, and deliver custom integration work for enterprise accounts.
team & delivery leadership
- manage and mentor a team of integration engineers across design, development, testing, and production support.
- set delivery priorities, manage capacity, and ensure the team ships reliable integrations on schedule.
- establish engineering best practices for integration development including code review standards, testing approaches, and deployment processes.
- implement rca discipline for integration failures—blameless postmortems that produce systemic fixes, not band-aids.
monitoring & operational reliability
- own integration observability including monitoring, alerting, and proactive failure detection across all active integration flows.
- define and track integration slos: delivery latency, error rates, retry success rates,
and throughput.
- build runbooks and escalation paths for integration incidents involving third-party platforms and clients.
- continuously improve integration reliability and reduce mean time to resolution for production issues.
what you bring
- 8+ years in software engineering with a focus on enterprise integrations, with at least 3 years in a technical management role.
- deep hands-on experience designing and delivering b2b integrations in a saas environment.
- expert knowledge of api-first architecture, rest, soap, graphql, and event-driven integration patterns.
- proven experience integrating with workday or other enterprise hris platforms (sap successfactors, ukg, oracle hcm).
- strong understanding of messaging systems and async integration patterns (azure service bus, event grid, kafka, or equivalent).
- hands-on experience with integration middleware or ipaas platforms.
- solid experience with microsoft azure cloud services and cloud-native integration architecture.
- strong background in .net core and c# for integration service development.
- advanced sql skills for data validation, transformation, and reporting across complex relational data models.
- track record of delivering complex integrations on time for enterprise clients.
- clear communicator who can translate integration complexity for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- hands-on enough to debug a failed integration run personally, not just escalate it.
