The Costing Engineer supports the business and the new product development process by tracking costs and ensuring targets are met.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Track product cost across the Thermal Line of Business including 4 manufacturing facilities
- Identify Cost Savings Opportunities
- Estimate cost of new products starting at the design concept phase and tracking through product launch to ensure cost targets are achieved.
- Assist with Make/Buy analysis.
- Review vendor quotes and help determine if the cost is acceptable.
- Work with a cross functional Team including most areas of the business but especially Operations and Procurement teams.
- Identify and advocate for process and system improvements that help streamline the business and reduce waste.Review Change Orders and determine impact of changes on costs.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience
- Basic working knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts and products
- Understand the manufacturing technologies such as Sheet metal, Fab & Machining, Composites, Cable and Harness, among others.
- Familiarity with MRP and ERP systems; preferred Oracle
- Basic mechanical CAD experience; preferred 3D CAD; preferred Creo or Solid Edge
- Capable of preparing data analysis and reporting with Excel
- Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional integral development teams.
