**Summary of This Role**:
Responsible for managing and directing all activities regarding tax research, tax records, tax schedules, planning, and compliance required of the organization. Works to optimize the tax obligation of the organization. Ensures that all appropriate tax returns and payments are filed in a timely manner. Prepares and or reviews the provision for taxes for the affiliated group of companies. Prepares or reviews the accounting entries for the tax provision of the consolidated group of companies.
**What Part Will You Play?**:
- Compiles data required to prepare international, federal, state and local tax documents, such as but not limited to returns, sales and use tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), property tax, and provisions, within internal and statutory deadlines as directed.
- Gathers required information to support the forecasting of tax credits/expenditures in relation to the company's business plan and vigente quarterly results. Maintains the company's database of applicable tax rates, as rates change. Participates in financial planning and analysis as required.
- Implements corrective actions in response to incorrect tax filings as directed. Supports the company liaison in IRS audits and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) key control testing by gathering data and/or preparing documentation as required.
- Begins to develop base knowledge/familiarization through research of international, federal, state and local tax laws for updates/revisions, and gains working knowledge of requisite software and internal work flow/procedures as required.
**What Are We Looking For in This Role?**:
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Experience or Degree in: Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related degree
- Typically No Relevant Experience Required
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience in Tax Compliance and federal consolidation or multi-state filings
- Typically Minimum 2 Years Relevant Exp
- CPA Certification/Master of Tax Degree/Experience in a large accounting firm or corporation
