We are looking for a talented **MATERIALS SCIENCE ASSOCIATE** to join our team specializing in **ENGINEERING** for our **CUMMINS MOTORES** in **San Luis Potosí, SLP, México**.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Monitoring laboratory supply inventory
- Supervising activities related to equipment maintenance
- Developing metallographic analyses
- Conducting failure analyses
- Performing welding quality evaluations
- Characterizing additive manufacturing processes in terms of porosity, chemistry, and mechanical properties
- Developing reports related to materials characterization work
- Acting as the team leader for all priorities and activities of laboratory work, calibration, and maintenance of equipment and instruments, technical reporting, and documentation
- Preparing samples and specimens for analysis and data acquisition, interpreting results, and drafting technical reports
- Maintaining quality procedures and work instructions
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of materials characterization, such as mechanical, chemical, and metallographic analyses




- Basic knowledge of welding and casting fundamentals
- Experience with equipment such as computed tomography (CT scan), arc/spark spectrometer, hardness testers, scanning electron microscope (SEM), optical microscope, and universal testing machine
- Knowledge of welding and additive manufacturing processes (direct energy deposition, powder bed fusion, and thermal spray processes)
- Advanced English
