Job Summary
The Import/Export Analyst will oversee and manage all import and export operations for our maquila facility in Tijuana. This role ensures compliance with international trade regulations, coordinates logistics, and supervises a team to ensure efficient and timely movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Import/Export Operations: Oversee daily import and export activities, ensuring compliance with Mexican and U.S. government regulations, including CTPAT, PROSEC, and other relevant programs.
- Customs Compliance: Develop and implement strategies for customs compliance, ensuring all documentation and procedures meet regulatory requirements.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate transportation services for the shipment of goods, working with internal departments, clients, and external partners to ensure timely delivery.
- Risk Management: Participate in risk assessments and develop policies and procedures to manage customs compliance and business risks.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for staff on import/export regulations and procedures.
- Audit and Investigations:
Lead compliance audits and investigations, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for import/export activities, including licenses, permits, and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in customs, import/export, traffic/transportation, and government compliance areas.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V Lookups).
- Experience with import/export compliance systems (e.g., I-Xport).
- Strong knowledge of Annex 24 and Annex 31 requirements.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Certifications: CTPAT certification is a must.
