Working at Tech Holding isn't just a job, it's an opportunity to be a part of something bigger. We are a full-service consulting firm that was founded on the premise of delivering predictable outcomes and high-quality solutions to our clients. Our founders and team members have industry experience and have held senior positions in a wide variety of companies - from emerging startups to large Fortune 50 firms - and we have taken our combined experiences and developed a unique approach that is supported by the principles of deep expertise, integrity, transparency, and dependability.
**The Role**:
As a Data Engineer on our team, you'll play a key role in shaping the data infrastructure behind our cloud and edge solutions. You'll work alongside a group of talented engineers and take ownership of designing, building, and maintaining robust data systems that support real-time insights, automation, and analytics. From ingesting edge device data to optimizing cloud-based pipelines, your work will directly impact the performance, scalability, and reliability of our end-to-end IoT platform.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of a technology stack that powers intelligent systems across industries. You'll be part of a fast-moving team that values innovation, ownership, and engineering excellence—and you'll help define how data is collected, monitored, and acted on in critical environments.
We're seeking a motivated Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions. You'll work with cutting-edge AWS and IoT technologies to deliver high-impact, end-to-end data pipelines for both batch and real-time analytics, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
**What You'll Do**:
- Build & Manage Data Pipelines: Develop secure and scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using AWS services (Glue, Lambda, Athena, Timestream, S3) and edge technologies (MQTT, AWS IoT Greengrass).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Define, develop, and deploy cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
- SQL & Data Transformation: Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries for data transformation and validation across AWS data services.
- Observability & Security: Implement and maintain observability tools (CloudWatch, Grafana) and ensure robust data security using best practices for IAM, encryption, and access control.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with software, DevOps, and product teams to deliver comprehensive data solutions.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, coupled with 2+ years of hands-on software or data engineering experience in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven experience in prototyping, testing, and code review across full development cycles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Skilled in scripting languages like Python or JavaScript.
- Experience with Linux environments, Docker, and Git.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and Terraform.
- Self-motivated, responsible, adept at managing multiple priorities independently, with excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
- A proactive, quick learner with a strong sense of initiative and ownership.
- **Must be available to work in Pacific Time (PT) zone**
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience with low-latency edge-to-cloud data pipelines
- Familiarity with React/Node.js for internal tools or dashboards
- Hands-on experience with a broader range of AWS services and IaC tools (e.g., Terragrunt, Atlantis)
- Exposure to additional monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus) or end-to-end testing frameworks
**What We Offer**:
- Remote opportunity with collaborative team culture
- Exposure to cloud-first environments and modern DevOps tooling
- Opportunities for growth and cross-functional impact
- Dynamic and fast-paced engineering environment
