**Position Summary**
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, technically proficient designer to influence the future of Nysonian’s manufacturing capabilities through smart, functional, and ergonomic product innovations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct in-depth **user research**, ergonomic studies, and workflow analysis within the plant to identify design improvement opportunities.
- Lead the **ideation, conceptualization, and development** of innovative physical products, tools, and mechanical systems used in manufacturing.
- Create and iterate **3D models**, technical drawings, and design specifications using industry-standard CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—engineering, production, safety,
and quality assurance—to ensure technical feasibility and operational alignment.
- Develop and test **functional prototypes** using rapid prototyping technologies and conduct **field trials** to validate performance and user experience.
- Maintain accurate design documentation, including BOMs, change logs, and compliance records.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in materials, industrial design, and factory automation technologies.
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in **Industrial Design**, **Product Design**, **Mechanical Engineering**, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of **5 years of experience** in physical product design, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Advanced proficiency in **CAD software** (SolidWorks, Autodesk, or similar) and 3D rendering tools.
- Proven experience in **prototyping**, **mechanical testing**, and **design validation**.
- Strong understanding of **materials science**, **manufacturing processes**, and **ergonomics**.
- Ability to synthesize technical requirements, user insights, and operational goals into cohesive design solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in **Spanish**; working knowledge of **English** is strongly preferred.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience with **Lean Manufacturing**, **Kaizen**, or **Six Sigma** methodologies.
- Familiarity with **ISO standards** and **safety compliance** in industrial settings.
- Hands-on fabrication or workshop experience is a plus.
- Experience designing for **heavy equipment**, **mechanical tooling**, or **assembly line systems**.
Pay: $25,000.00 - $35,000.00 per month
