Position Summary
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process primarily in Mexico, while also supporting recruitment and onboarding efforts for positions in the United States. This role oversees everything from job postings, advertising, screening, and interviewing to onboarding, HRIS updates, compliance, and collaboration with internal teams.
While most U.S. recruitment tasks can be handled remotely, certain compliance requirements (e.g., I-9 document verification) must be completed onsite in the U.S. The specialist will collaborate closely with U.S.based HR and hiring managers to ensure those steps are handled appropriately.
Essential Functions
- Post vacancies across Mexican and U.S. job boards (Indeed, OCC, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, etc.) ensuring alignment with local compliance and company standards.
- Build partnerships with universities, technical schools, and community groups in Mexico to strengthen recruiting pipelines.
- Engage in networking and industry-specific recruiting events in Mexico and the U.S. when required.
- Manage employer profiles on external recruitment platforms and provide quarterly updates and reporting on engagement and branding.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with hiring managers in Mexico and the U.S. to understand staffing needs and ensure a fast, simple, and effective hiring process.
- Collaborate closely with onsite U.S. HR and managers to complete compliance-related onboarding tasks (e.g., I-9, physical ID checks).
- Educate hiring managers on best practices in recruiting, interviewing, and retention strategies.
- Provide timely updates to Training, IT, and hiring teams with all details needed to prepare for new hires (equipment, accounts, training schedules, etc.).
Onboarding & HRIS (Paycom)
- Manage all aspects of onboarding through the HRIS (Paycom), including:
- Offer letters, background checks, reference checks.
- Self-onboarding, document verification, and compliance reviews.
- Processing PAFs (Personnel Action Forms) and maintaining electronic personnel files.
- Ensure proper completion of all new hire checklists within the HRIS system.
- Support U.S. onboarding requirements remotely (I-9/E-Verify coordination, payroll verification, profile setup), while onsite tasks are executed by U.S. HR/hiring managers.
- Manage the employee referral program and promote it internally.
- Lead and manage new hire orientation sessions to create a welcoming,
engaging experience aligned with the company’s “Employer of Choice” culture.
Compliance & Process Excellence
- Ensure recruiting and onboarding processes comply with Mexican labor law and, when applicable, U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Partner with HR Analysts to manage seat creation, position setup, and organizational chart accuracy within the HRIS.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and oversee document uploads to HRIS within SLA standards.
- Support exit interviews for U.S. and Mexico employees, documenting and reporting findings.
Continuous Improvement & Special Projects
- Lead special recruiting initiatives (e.g., high-volume hiring events, seasonal recruitment campaigns, employer branding projects).
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures for recruiting, onboarding, and HRIS processes.
- Participate in community partnerships (colleges, universities, chambers of commerce, and professional associations).
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in recruitment/talent acquisition (call center or high-volume recruiting experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Mexican labor law and exposure to U.S. hiring requirements (I-9/E-Verify, Fair Hiring Practices).
- Experience with HRIS/ATS systems, preferably Paycom.
- Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English (bilingual required).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: MXN $25,000 - $30,000 per month (depending on experience and location).
