The **Finance Assistant** for our Mexico City location will work closely with our team in the UK, and act as an essential role for our Polanco based team.
**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include**:
- Process purchase invoices, sales invoices, staff expenses and surrogate expenses
- Reconcile bank statements and company credit cards.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
- Monitor and manage petty cash and company expenses.
- Handle supplier queries and maintain supplier accounts.
- Handle incoming mail, scan and photocopy documents, and prepare quarterly reports.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
- Payroll Accounting: Whilst this is not essential this role may cross over into payroll.
Accounting assistants need excellent command over payroll functions.
They should understand employee compensation, benefits and deductions, and payroll taxes.
**Skills & Experience**:




- Minimum 2 years accountancy experience.
- Bachelor's degree in business or accounting
- Familiarity with SAT (Servicio de Administración Tributaria) processes
- Understanding of ISR (Income Tax), IVA (Value-Added Tax), and DIOT **is essential**:
- Experience with Mexican payroll, invoicing (CFDI), and contabilidad electrónica
- Error-free calculation and fact-checking skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent written and spoken technical English
