The successful candidate will work closely with global engineering teams, customers, suppliers, and end users to ensure software quality, release readiness, and an effective end-to-end testing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a integral software test organization, including resource planning, prioritization, performance, and team development.
- Define and manage the software test strategy, scope, plans, schedules, metrics, and release-readiness criteria.
- Manage both manual software testing and software test automation activities.
- Ensure continuous software testing is integrated into the continuous integration and delivery environment.
- Coordinate unit, integration, system, regression, performance, acceptance, and automated testing activities.
- Manage vehicle-level software testing across products and subsystems, including cloud-computing and edge-computing solutions.
- Coordinate the availability of test environments, vehicles, prototype configurations, software versions, tools, test routes, test data, and required resources.
- Track progress, test coverage, defects, risks, quality trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure traceability across software requirements, test cases, software versions, test results, defects, and release evidence.
- Lead defect-triage activities; ensure issues are properly logged, classified, prioritized, assigned, resolved, and verified.
- Analyze software defects using cloud-based analytics, logs, telemetry, diagnostic data, and conventional debugging methods.
- Develop, acquire, and implement software tools that improve testing efficiency, coverage, automation, and reporting.
- Provide hands-on support for system testing activities as required.
- Produce test status reports, quality dashboards, risk assessments, and release-readiness recommendations for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with development, integration, validation, supplier, customer, and end-user teams in a global environment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable development and testing processes, including Automotive SPICE, ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, and internal quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in test processes, automation, tooling, test coverage, and operational efficiency.
Team Development and Mentoring
- Mentor and develop junior engineers in software testing practices, methodologies, and tools.
- Train junior team members on:
- Flashing and deploying software to target devices and vehicles.
- Understanding, classifying, documenting, and reporting software defects.
- Working with device software, and automated test systems.
- Foster a strong quality culture, technical curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning within the team.
