About the team

Our new Rentals Multichannel Ads Team focuses on maintaining and continuing to build more rental ads on multiple platforms including Zillow brand sites, Meta/Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and more to come.

This team is part of the Rental Revenue Platform team which supports our external customers, large property management companies, which buy our monthly advertisement subscriptions, and internal partners such as operations, billing, sales and other teams that use our tools to support our customers.

We will also continue to improve and extend our services to expand our scope to not only create ads automatically but to also do more on forecasting, inventory management, and delivery optimization.

About the role

This is a backend-focused engineering role on a new, high-visibility team building multichannel ad infrastructure across Zillow brand sites, Meta, TikTok, and more. You'll work on meaningful, revenue-impacting problems alongside product, design, compliance, data science, and operations teams — with the full support of an experienced parent org behind you.

Must-have skills:

- Large-scale backend systems experience — hands-on building, debugging, and maintaining production services at real scale

- Strong Java proficiency — core language, collections, concurrency, and API design

- Database experience across SQL, Spanner, and Databricks

- Real-world microservices experience — inter-service contracts, deployments, and understanding of trade-offs

- Data and query design skills — indexing, query plans, caching, denormalization

- Strong testing practices

- On-call readiness (24/7 rotation)

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and instead work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live anywhere in Mexico, with availability to travel to Mexico City,



as we recommend attendance at occasional office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Who you are

- Experienced backend engineer with a BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience) and 5+ years building scalable backend services for consumer-facing products using Java and/or Go, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript

- Accountable and detail-oriented — you take ownership of your work, especially when it's revenue-impacting

- You move fast but with accuracy, and test thoroughly

- Proactive — you come up with product ideas, review briefs thoughtfully, and aren't afraid to push back when something shouldn't be built

- Collaborative and hardworking — you thrive in team environments, enjoy sharing knowledge, and participate actively in learning sessions
