Senior Shipping Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Shipping Engineer to lead and optimize outbound shipping activities within a high-volume manufacturing and logistics operation.

This role will be responsible for planning shipments, selecting the most efficient transportation methods, monitoring delivery performance, and driving continuous improvement across shipping processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage daily and weekly outbound shipping plans based on customer requirements, material availability, and operational priorities.
- Select the most effective transportation mode, including truckload, LTL, air freight, ocean, or expedited services.
- Coordinate shipment execution with warehouse teams, carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor inbound and outbound shipments and proactively address delays, exceptions, and urgent requests.
- Create loads and manage outbound shipment transactions in SAP.
- Track shipment status and maintain accurate information across internal systems.
- Analyze shipping performance using SAP, Power BI, Excel, and other reporting tools.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly shipping reports and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery performance, transportation utilization, and freight cost.




- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvement initiatives.
- Communicate proactively with customers, carriers, and internal teams regarding shipment status and delivery commitments.
- Support standardization, documentation, and special logistics projects as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in shipping, transportation, warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
- Hands-on experience with SAP shipping or logistics transactions.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI for reporting and analysis.
- Experience with transportation management systems, ERP platforms, or shipment planning tools.
- Knowledge of truckload, LTL, air freight, ocean, and expedited transportation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to time-sensitive situations.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with process improvement, cost reduction, and root cause analysis is preferred.
