Overview
The Trade Compliance, Customs & Logistics I, is responsible for participating in compliance activities related to international trade. This role involves assessing risks associated with Plexus customs operations, implementing compliance procedures and work instructions, and providing guidance to internal teams. The analyst will also play a key role in optimizing processes and supporting audits to ensure compliance with trade regulations.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Prepare, review, and update the Value Manifestation for each import operation.
- Conduct a comprehensive review (VETTING/GLOSA) of import and/or export customs entries.
- Verify accurate calculation of duties and taxes and compliance with import/export permits.
- Identify, document, and report any incidents or errors detected in the customs documents.
- Collect and safeguard supporting documentation for the Value Manifestation.
- Stay updated on changes in customs and foreign trade regulations.
- Provide internal advice on technical aspects such as Value Manifestation, COVE, DODA.
- Collaborate in addressing requirements or audits by customs authorities.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Other needs as required by the logistics area.
Professional Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance, customs audit, or customs documentation areas.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, General Rules of Commerce, Customs Law, and Pedimentos fulfillment.
- English, mid level (at least B1).
Technical Skills
Practical experience in Customs Entry Vetting (GLOSA), handling and preparation of the Value Manifestation, solid knowledge of the Customs Law and the legal framework applicable to foreign trade, Google Workspace usage, familiarity with trade compliance (Ann
