About the Role

We are looking for an Equipment Manager to guarantee the operational continuity of production equipment and facilities at our optical cable manufacturing plant in Querétaro, Mexico. You will own the full equipment lifecycle — from procurement and acceptance to maintenance, spare parts, and technical upgrades — minimizing failures and optimizing resources to ensure productivity, safety, and profitability.

What You'll Do

- Manage the full equipment lifecycle: lead procurement, installation, commissioning, acceptance, and disposal of optical cable production equipment (coloring machines, stranding machines, sheathing extrusion lines, testing instruments, etc.); build and maintain a digital equipment archive；
- Execute the preventive maintenance system: develop annual maintenance and TPM plans based on equipment classification, supervise execution and condition monitoring, and analyze operation data to optimize maintenance strategies；
- Lead fault response and technical support: respond quickly to repair requests, lead root cause analysis of recurring failures, implement corrective solutions, and convert learnings into standardized knowledge-base guidelines；
- Control spare parts and costs: manage spare parts inventory with safety stock thresholds and a critical-parts supplier network; prepare maintenance budgets, drive spare part substitution and repair-reuse to reduce costs, and improve OEE；
- Drive technical optimization and innovation: evaluate equipment performance, lead automation upgrades and digitalization (industrial IoT,



AI-based predictive maintenance) to enhance efficiency and product quality；
- Ensure compliance and safety: verify special equipment inspection validity, implement equipment safety procedures, eliminate mechanical and electrical hazards, and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 45001, CE)；
- Build and lead the maintenance team (mechanical/electrical engineers and technicians): assign tasks, run technical training programs (PLC programming, fiber optic equipment maintenance), and establish a skills matrix；
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Process/Technology, Quality, and HR, and manage external equipment suppliers, contractors, and consultants；

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field; Master's degree a plus；
- 10+ years of equipment management/maintenance experience in manufacturing; fiber optic cable industry experience is a strong plus；
- Solid hands-on expertise with Siemens PLCs and automated machinery control；
- Skilled in configuring parameters and troubleshooting frequency converters；
- Strong drafting skills — able to produce accurate electrical schematics and equipment assembly drawings with CAD or similar design software；
- Strong capabilities in strategic planning, budget management, effective communication, and team leadership；
- Good command of English, both written and spoken；
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)；
