Role Summary

We're looking for a Senior Mobile Architect to define and drive the technical direction of our mobile platform, staying deeply hands-on in both native Android/Kotlin and React Native. This is not a purely strategic role — you'll be writing code, reviewing architecture, and solving hard technical problems alongside the team, while also owning the roadmap for our transition toward a unified React Native codebase. You'll work in close, daily contact with C-level stakeholders, translating technical decisions into business impact and representing engineering in high-visibility conversations, so strong executive communication is as critical as technical depth.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and own the mobile architecture strategy across native Android (Kotlin) and React Native, balancing performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability
- Stay hands-on: design, build, and review production code in both Kotlin/Android SDK and React Native, setting the technical bar for the team
- Lead the team's roadmap and technical decisions for migrating and expanding React Native adoption
- Act as the primary technical point of contact with C-level stakeholders, communicating architecture decisions, trade-offs, timelines, and risk in clear, business-relevant terms on a daily basis
- Establish and enforce best practices for MVVM/Clean Architecture, testing, CI/CD, and code quality across the mobile codebase
- Partner with backend, product,



and design leadership to align mobile architecture with broader platform and business goals
- Mentor and technically guide engineers, reviewing code and raising the overall engineering bar
- Evaluate emerging mobile technologies and tooling, and make recommendations that shape the team's technical roadmap

Required Qualifications

- 10+ years of experience in mobile development, with deep, hands-on expertise in native Android development using Kotlin and the Android SDK
- Extensive, hands-on production experience architecting and shipping applications with React Native — this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have
- Demonstrated experience as a mobile architect or technical lead, owning architecture decisions for complex, production-scale applications end to end
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience presenting to and working directly with C-level or senior executive stakeholders
- Strong command of MVVM/Clean Architecture, RESTful web services, dependency-injection, and modern testing practices
- Track record mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across cross-functional, distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience formally leading a mobile engineering team
- Experience driving a native-to-React-Native migration in a production environment
- Familiarity with iOS/Swift
- Experience working in fast-paced, executive-facing environments (startups, consulting, or client-facing delivery)
