Overview The Senior IT Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all information technology services at the Omni Pontoque Resort at Punta de Mita This is a hands-on hospitality leadership role that supports the guest experience and resort operations through reliable, secure, and service-oriented technology, ensuring that front-of-house and back-of-house systems — including networking, PC hardware, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and end-user support — enhance service quality, operational continuity, and productivity. The role is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of system hardware, software, and related infrastructure, ensuring that all technology and procedures adhere to Omni Hotels &
- Resorts’ corporate standards while enabling associates and vendors to deliver an uninterrupted, ultra-luxury guest experience from the resort’s pre-opening phase forward.
Essential Functions Guest-Facing &
- Operational Technology Support Provide technical support on all computer, network, and guest-facing systems throughout the hotel, prioritizing service issues that impact guest experience, safety, and business continuity.
Support point-of-sale (POS) systems used in food & beverage, retail, and resort outlets, ensuring reliable connectivity across guest, administrative, and operational areas.
Ensure proper operation of IT equipment while troubleshooting hardware or software issues; diagnose network and system problems, recommend and implement solutions, or engage vendors as needed.
Troubleshoot basic telecommunications issues, including telephone moves, additions, and changes.
Provide professional, respectful, and timely IT support to resort associates and leadership. IT Operations, Infrastructure &
- Vendor Management Install computer hardware and software, maintaining the latest service pack and security versions across all systems.
Manage hardware inventory, installation, replacement cycles, and asset controls for all resort IT equipment.
Install new servers or rebuild existing ones, configuring hardware, peripherals, storage,
and settings in accordance with corporate standards and operational requirements.
Coordinate installation of new systems and equipment, and support corporate programs or initiatives, which may include beta testing.
Complete work assigned by the Omni Hotels &
- Resorts Service Desk in a timely manner, prioritizing and escalating issues as needed.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated, approaches for system administration tasks that leverage resources and provide economies of scale.
Information
Security &
- Compliance Ensure IT systems and controls comply with corporate policies and procedures, including PCI standards, backup policies, and Corporate IT standards; perform audits, system maintenance, and security reviews.
Oversee and conduct periodic integrated risk assessments across the property, reporting to Omni Service Center leadership as needed.
Serve as the primary local point of contact for business leaders on information security matters, identifying and communicating security risks, issues, and developments while escalating appropriate concerns to the IT Security team for assessment and response.
Promote adherence to Information Security practices by providing guidance to functional and business teams, identifying and reporting security findings, and escalating issues to the IT Security team for assessment and mitigation.
Monitor regulatory changes that impact IT, leading property communications, implementation, and monitoring of compliance requirements. Team Leadership &
- Associate Training Lead and engage the local IT team toward success, providing hands-on support, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
Hire, recruit,
and retain superior IT talent required to enable and drive the resort’s future growth.
Train users on the proper use and maintenance of systems, including conducting training and retraining sessions with hotel associates.
Provide clear direction to achieve goals, creating an environment that fosters team commitment and associate engagement.
Remain abreast of changes in user, system software, and hardware requirements relevant to the resort’s operation.
Business
Partnership &
- Executive Advisory Serve as advisor to executive leadership on information security risks, IT compliance issues, and industry trends requiring prioritization, funding, or implementation support.
Partner with Infrastructure and Operations teams to drive adoption and implementation of information security policies, procedures, standards, and incident-handling processes.
Communicate in business terms that can be clearly understood at all levels of the organization, demonstrating exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Attain a clear understanding of the business data lifecycle and proactively advise management on potential risks that may materially impact the business, its bottom line, or operating performance.
Provide advice and counsel to resort and corporate executives regarding key initiatives that could be impacted by compliance or security issues.
Minimum Qualifications Must be bilingual in English and Spanish 6+ years of Information Technology experience, including 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Bachelor of Science degree in a related technology field, or equivalent professional experience.
Deep, best-in-class understanding of foundational IT networking, operating systems, and application infrastructure, with specific experience implementing security technologies.
Experience leading compliance functions within a hospitality and/or retail organization, ideally within an ultra-luxury or pre-opening environment.
Strong service mindset aligned with hospitality operations, with hands-on leadership, accountability, and integrity.
