Position-: Senior Infrastructure & Systems Developer (GCP BigQuery)

Location: Guadalajara, MX Remote

Job Description:

• Key Qualifications & Technical Skills

Core Requirements:

• Experience: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in large-scale distributed systems.

• Primary Language: Strong proficiency in Python for infrastructure automation, tool development, and configuration.

• Infrastructure Mastery: Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture, multi-cell/multi-region environments, and container/resource management orchestration (e.g., Borg or equivalent large-scale cluster management).

• CI/CD Systems: Strong experience managing and optimizing Continuous Integration pipelines (presubmit, nightly builds, test quarantine frameworks).

Preferred/Helpful Skills:

• Familiarity with Java, J2EE,



or C++ to quickly comprehend and navigate the broader BigQuery codebase context.

• Prior experience building or working directly with Google-specific infrastructure tools (Borg, Cellmate, Flex API).

• Familiarity or exposure to AI/ML agentic workflows for automated system triage and log/latency analysis.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Your success in this role will be measured by the stability of the non-production environments and code health metrics:

• Changelist (CL) Quality: Maintain a $ge$ 90% CL pass rate (defined as change lists requiring < 5 review rounds).

Toil Reduction: Measurable reduction in manual interventions for BigQuery SWEs through durable automation.
