This is a full-time contract role for candidates based in Mexico.

Better Digital is expanding its enterprise WordPress practice. You would work hands-on across several existing WordPress projects, doing the enhancements, fixes, and feature builds that keep them running and make them better.

This is a senior engineering role, not an architect role. You go into an existing codebase, understand it quickly, and make changes safely. You handle the DevOps, you debug production issues, and you solve problems as they come. The work is maintaining and improving live systems, not building new ones from scratch.

You work with our US-based engagement manager, who sets priorities with the client. You also get on calls with the client directly: explaining your work, walking through fixes, and taking requirements firsthand. That is why excellent English is non-negotiable.

WordPress is the core of the job. Strong Drupal experience is a real plus, and there is room to work across both. You are also comfortable across PHP, JavaScript,



databases, and the server side.

What this takes:
Senior WordPress engineering. You can go into an existing codebase, understand it fast, and change it safely.
Enhancements, fixes, and feature builds on live production sites. This is maintenance and improvement work, not building from scratch.
Custom plugin and theme development. You build your own, and you can read and fix someone else's.
DevOps for production WordPress: environments, deployments, CI/CD, caching, performance, and uptime.
Strong problem-solving. You diagnose and fix production issues on your own.
Excellent written and spoken English, non-negotiable. You get on calls with the client, explain your work, and take requirements directly.
Technical range beyond WordPress: PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, REST APIs, and server and hosting fundamentals.
Drupal experience is a strong plus.
