About the role

We are a Mexico-based e-commerce company (TikTok Shop, Mercado Libre, own D2C) with a foreign-owned parent looking for a Bilingual Tax Accountant (Contador Fiscal) for our monthly Mexican tax compliance work.

This is a part-time / freelance retainer engagement, ~10-20 hours per month, with in-person meetings in our CDMX office (Reforma 404) at least twice per month. All internal communication with the foreign leadership team is in English.

Note: for SAT enforcement matters (Vigilancia Profunda, requerimientos, TFJA litigation) we have a separate opening for a Bilingual Tax Attorney (Abogado Fiscalista). This role is the monthly-compliance counterpart, not the enforcement/litigation one.

What you will do
- Prepare and file the monthly declarations for the company: IVA, ISR, retenciones. Deadlines cannot slip.
- Reconcile CFDIs of income and expenses against our accounting records; flag missing or mismatched invoices.
- Issue and validate nómina CFDI (Tipo N) for our payroll, including IMSS/INFONAVIT contributions.
- Manage routine SAT portal communications:



buzón tributario notifications, opinión de cumplimiento, constancias, refunds.
- Advise on deductibility of expenses, régimen fiscal, and month-to-month tax planning.
- Coordinate with our Bilingual Tax Attorney when a matter escalates to SAT enforcement (you do not handle enforcement/litigation).
- Explain monthly filings, risks, and open items to the foreign leadership team in clear English — one written status update per month plus ad-hoc questions.

Requirements:
- Licenciado en Contaduría Pública, Cédula cualificado vigente. Specialization in Impuestos preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with monthly SAT compliance for Mexican companies (persona moral).
- Proficient with the SAT portal, buzón tributario, and standard accounting/CFDI tools.
