Summary:
The role of Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing key areas of spend across the company to deliver on the Procurement’s Vision in support of Baxter’s mission to “Save and Sustain Lives.”
Main Responsabilities:
1. Manage and deliver all aspects of Strategic Sourcing and Spend Management for assigned categories/sub-categories.
2. Develop and/or maintain market knowledge of assigned commodities/ supplier technologies, manufacturing processes, and related industries: including cost drivers, general execution, to leverage across multiple manufacturing locations, and to understand specific supply issues.
3. Lead cross functional stakeholders to develop and implement category strategies for assigned category / sub-categories of spend.
4. Create cost saving opportunities through competitive bidding,



supplier development to increase competition and leverage supplier relationship to drive value engineering initiatives.
5. Negotiate price, contract terms and conditions to deliver on spend cover by contracts.
6. Maintain and review supplier performance to ensure conformance to supplier management goals (cost, quality, service, delivery).
7. Ensure timely resolution of all disputes.
8. Develop, lead, and optimize sourcing strategy for the category to deliver on supply assurance, improving quality and competitive cost.
9. Lead the risk management and supply continuity programs for the category.
Requiriments:
1. (3 - 5) years experience required in negotiations, contract, and supplier management
2. Demonstrated strong knowledge of production, finance and strategic planning when developing product strategies.
3. Experience in strategic purchasing, preferably in metals.
4. Experience within a continuous improvement environment, with achievement of significant annual results.
5. Successful experience within a matrix organization, with demonstration of great flexibility.
5. Experience required with theoretical cost analyses, buy-to-make decisions, as well as buying in low-cost regions.
