As Parent Lab's Senior Systems Architect & Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in achieving our mission by driving the technical direction of our company forward. **Your Day-to-Day**:
- Lead AI Innovation: Lead the team in harnessing the latest advancements in AI tech to enhance our native consumer app, in a scalable, low-cost way.
- Innovate for Impact: Develop new technological strategies to shape the future of Era’s user experience, focused on creating the most impact on the most families possible.
- Commit Code: Utilize your core strengths in backend development to ensure an elegant native mobile app experience with an emphasis on high-quality code and speed-to-release.
- Make High-Speed Decisions: Make swift, high-impact decisions that directly steer the company's success. Embrace prioritization shifts and immerse yourself in driving new initiatives forward.
- Collaborate: Actively engage in high-level idea-sharing, tactical strategy, and process improvement across the org. Seek, support, and encourage contributions from all team members. Work closely with our distributed engineering, product, marketing, and content teams to develop solutions that meet stakeholder needs.
- Communicate: Develop systems maps, spearhead technical conversations, deliver clear technical requirements and documentation, engage in daily slack standups,



and weekly strategy meetings, and communicate your challenges and requests promptly and clearly.
- Cross-Train: Mentor and develop technical talent within the team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning, ensuring cross-coverage on all aspects of the stack.
- Cultivate Kindness: Leave the ego at the door, trust your colleagues' competence, and support non-technical team members to create an inclusive, productive work environment where everyone thrives.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Fluent in English
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in native consumer app development, preferably in agile startups
- Experience with (or a deep desire and ability to learn on the fly about) LLM integrations and AI systems optimization - we’re on OpenAi right now
- Deep understanding of mobile app backend systems, integrations, and API development
- Proven track record in leading and managing CI/CD processes and tools
- Experience with systems analysis and optimization for scalability
- Demonstrated experience in developing technical talent and formulating technical strategies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with an ability to influence and inspire teams
