**About the Role**:
The tax function plays a critical role to the Mining Solutions business and is part of the Finance structure for the Americas region. The person in this role will be responsible for creating not only processes to ensure all tax obligations are properly met but, also, will provide valuable insights on operations and opportunities for streamlining activities. It is envisioned that this person will be the focal point in negotiations and technical discussions with third party companies that will be hired to support all legal entities in the Americas region.
**The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following**:
- Ensure all reporting requirements established by governmental tax authorities (Local, State and Federal) are properly met
- Lead all activities associated with recovering of taxes (VAT, Sales and Use Tax, etc.)
- Gather information from IT systems and other functions, as needed, to ensure proper calculation, reporting and payment of fiscal obligations
- Coordinate with third party companies in the countries involved (US, Canada, Chile and Mexico)



to contract activities and establishing clear deliverables from such companies as to allow the business to operate without interruptions while fulfilling all its fiscal & tax obligations.
- Lead any effort associated with audits from governmental authorities and external auditors
- Provide insightful inputs to Business and Finance Leaders on best ways to improve business performance (Tax aspects)
- Control all tax payments and other fiscal obligations (Reporting, etc.) and ensure proper communication exist with Treasury on cash forecast (inflows and outflows)
- Protect the company’s right to operate by providing strong leadership and counsel to Business Leaders
- Coordinate all activities associated with the Transfer Price policy (Maintenance of standards, control of transactions, communication of potential pricing changes to the CSRs for proper implementation)
- Throughout the use of publications and networking, be on top of legislation changes and be able to properly guide the businesses to ensure compliance with fiscal/tax requirements
**General Skills required include**:
- Self-motivated initiative
- English (advanced)
- Good oral and written communication skills to effectively build relationships.
- Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Collaboration and strong teamwork.
- Degree in Public Accounting.
- Experience in the Tax area, minimum 3 years.
- Must be detail-oriented and analytical.
- Able to multitask.
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- Experience in some ERP system.
- Mexican web portals management.
