**The Role**
The Senior Analytics Engineer is a key member of our organization who works within Inviso project teams to help our clients derive meaningful business insights from large, complex datasets.
Key activities include:
- Working with customers to understand their business needs and translate them into written requirements which can be understood by technical and non-technical audiences
- Building compelling, interactive and actionable reporting on top of structured data models
- Designing, developing, and deploying BI solutions using Microsoft BI technologies including SQL Server, Power BI, Excel, SSIS, & SSAS
- Analyzing new / disparate data sources to integrate with existing datasets to tell a comprehensive BI story
- Supporting the full BI lifecycle from requirements analysis through design & development and on into release and support/maintenance phases
- Collaborating with Sales to design solutions, estimate, and sell new work

**Required Experience**
- 5+ years as a Business Intelligence professional using the Microsoft technology stack
- Deep experience with T-SQL, SQL data transformation, data profiling, and root cause analysis




- Experience working directly with customers to workshop ideas, understand business needs & priorities, define scope, and create estimates
- Experience translating business needs into clear requirements, priorities, and technical designs
- Experience designing and developing reporting solutions with Microsoft Power BI and related technologies
- DAX development experience (time intelligence, table functions, scalar functions, etc.)
- Advanced Excel expertise (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, Power Pivot, functions, macros, charts, etc.)
- Experience designing, developing & deploying tabular models
- Strong QA and troubleshooting skills
**Desired Qualifications**
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Experience working with Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, etc.) and related technologies
- Ability to drive overall project management throughout the development lifecycle
- Experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies, especially the Product Owner role
- Experience writing technical marketing content such as blogs, white papers, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field
- Experience managing codebases using Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and/or Git
