Elite Drafting & Design provides high-quality shop drawings and engineering services for glazing contractors across the United States. We work on commercial, institutional, and specialty projects with a focus on precision, communication, and efficiency.
We’re looking for a **Junior Engineer** to join our growing team and work directly under our Senior Engineer, supporting ongoing projects from concept to completion.**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in the preparation, review, and revision of engineering calculations for glazing systems, curtain walls, storefronts, and related assemblies.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to extract relevant engineering data.
- Coordinate with the drafting team to ensure engineering requirements are accurately reflected in shop drawings.
- Communicate with the Senior Engineer to clarify technical requirements and resolve design questions.
- Support submittal packages with technical documentation, calculation sheets, and compliance notes.
- Maintain organized records of engineering data, revisions, and approvals.
- Research manufacturer specifications and building codes as needed.
**Requirements**:




- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field (or final-year student with availability to work full-time).
- **Strong written and spoken English** - must be able to communicate with U.S. clients and read technical documentation.
- Solid understanding of structural principles, load calculations, and material properties.
- Familiarity with aluminum glazing systems, steel framing, or façade engineering is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to project-specific workflows.
**Nice to Have**
- Experience with U.S. building codes (IBC, ASTM standards).
- Knowledge of calculation software such as STAAD, SAP2000, or similar.
- Previous work in a glazing, façade, or metal structures company.
